Job Description

If you are looking for an opportunity helping youth practice their English skills, please consider us. We hope to create an online opportunity for Mandarin speaking students to connect with English native speakers from Canada. You would have a chance to lead a small group session. You are encouraged to design and prepare the sessions based on provided central topics.

Skills Required 1. Lead online session for a group of 4 students from China. 2. Be creative in planning and are interested in carrying out sessions for EAL students. Session materials could include and not limited to the following: topic relevant YouTube Videos, activities, and games. 3. Have access to a laptop, headset (would prefer and optional), and microphone (would prefer and optional). 6. Volunteers need to have access of VooV meeting.1 Note: 1. VooV meeting can be downloaded free on laptops and phones, and we will provide general information on how to access this meeting app.
Benefits to Volunteer 1. Choose one or more topics of your interests from The Topic List below and carry it out with a small group of students from China. 2. Volunteer hours and a recommendation letter can be provided. 3. Establish and build on various skills, including leadership skills, communication skills, interpersonal skills, problem-solving skills and more. 4. Provide Chinese students with confidence in their conversational English-speaking skills. 5. Forming connections with the students and creating memorable friendships.
