Position Title | Seniors Bus Buddy Program |
Job Description | The Senior Bus Buddy Program from the Saskatoon Council on Aging aims to help individuals 55+ become more comfortable using the Saskatoon City Transit. Bus Buddy Volunteers are paired with an older adult to provide them with a personalized introduction on how to navigate the city bus system. Volunteers accompany the seniors on several bus trips until they are comfortable taking the bus alone. All volunteers must attend a mandatory training session with Experience Transit to become qualified Bus Buddy volunteers. |
Skills Required | Volunteers will provide seniors guidance on how to: - navigate the city transit system -Planning bus trips (one-way and round-trip) - Reading transit routes The Bus Buddy Program is free for seniors to join. Bus tickets and transit handout are provided. |
