Summer Fun program

SUMMER FUN provides children and youth experiencing disability the opportunity
to gain new experiences, make new friends, learn new skills, and enjoy safe and challenging
activities during the summer months!
WHO:
Looking for fun loving people, willing to help and learn new skills. 14 years of age or older.
No experience required!
WHAT:
As a Summer Fun volunteer, you will have the opportunity to engage in fun & exciting
community-based activities with children & youth aged six (6) to 22 experiencing physical and/or
intellectual disabilities. Your role will include helping the participants to actively engage in community-based
activities. Examples of activities include bowling, spray parks, Forestry Farm, city festivals, scavenger hunts,
theme parties, the Saskatoon Ex and much, much more!
WHEN:
July & August annually. Afternoon outings. Activities scheduled in advance.
The program does not run on Statutory Holidays.
WHERE:
Various community-based locations around Saskatoon!
HOW:

DRESS:
Casual clothing, closed toe and heel shoes, activity appropriate.
GENERAL EXPECTATIONS:
• Enthusiasm and active participation.
• Professional, respectful behaviour.
NOTE:
• Transportation to and from activities is the responsibility of the volunteer.
• The cost for the outings will be covered by SaskAbilities
(e.g., admission to movie, bowling, etc.)
• You will receive an Orientation in advance of volunteering!
