Position Title Summer Success Volunteer
Job Description

United Way of Saskatoon and Area partners with Greater Saskatoon Catholic Schools (GSCS) to put on six two-week literacy camps over the summer through an initiative called Summer Success. Summer Success takes place for two weeks throughout the summer so kids can either improve or maintain their reading levels. The summer months can be a challenging time for many students to keep up with their learning, which can result in them falling behind. Through Summer Success, children get the opportunity to continue their learning throughout the summer, putting them back on track for the school year.
This years camps will run from July 17th-28th with times to volunteer between 10:30am to 11:30am or 12:00pm to 1:00pm. On the last day of camp there will be a celebratory BBQ that requires volunteers as well. Volunteers can choose the days and times that work best for their schedule.
All volunteers must obtain a Criminal Record Check and a Vulnerable Sector Search after signing up to volunteer. Both of those can be obtained at the Saskatoon Police Service between the hours of 8am-5pm during the week. An email with proof of volunteering will be provided to you that will need to be taken with you which will waiver all fees for the check.
