We change lives together
Funded Community Agencies and Programs
At United Way, we are committed to solving social and economic issues including income inequality, poverty, racism, school readiness, affordable housing, mental health and access to services in order to create long-term change.
We work closely with local agencies to support programs and services in our community, and address the emerging needs in Saskatoon and the surrounding area. Together, we strengthen our community and create opportunities for a better life for everyone.
Our Focus Areas
Through acts of local love that include, engaging and mobilizing community dollars, strengthening the network of services and capacity of non-profits, influencing public attitudes, systems and policies and understand and addressing underlying causes if these issues we will positively impact the lives of vulnerable children, youth and their families through three targeted investments areas.
Building stronger communities
United Way is leading the implementation of 211 throughout Saskatchewan to help improve access to services and support the mental, emotional and spiritual well-being for everyone in our province.
211 is a free, confidential, service that connects individuals to human services in the province by telephone, text, or online chat, plus a searchable website with over 6,000+ listings of community, government and non-clinical health services across the province.
Helping kids be all that they can be
Summer Success is a United Way initiative that takes an upstream approach in helping vulnerable children move towards grade level reading by tackling their summer learning loss.
Moving people from poverty to possibility
Journey Home gives people who have experienced chronic homelessness an opportunity to have a place to call home while receiving support that helps them through their journey to stability and recovery.
It takes an entire community working together to create change. United Way of Saskatoon and Area works diligently to build meaningful and strategic partnerships across all sectors – with business, labour, local agencies, and more. These partnerships strengthen our community’s capacity to address social issues and create lasting change.
