Job Description

SaskAbilities welcomes you to join us as a volunteer in our Quality of Life Program!

Quality of Life provides adults experiencing an intellectual disability the opportunity to take part in fun and enjoyable activities year round with a group of their peers! Programming is both community-based and centre-based and encompasses a wide range of activities focusing on recreation, health, life skills, volunteerism and so much more!

Volunteers play an important role in fostering inclusion, confidence, and life skills through shared joyful experiences.

Working with our Quality of life team, volunteer responsibilities include:
• Assisting participants with various social, leisure, and recreational activities
• Promoting safety and encouraging independence
• Supporting a positive, social, and engaging group environment
• Helping with activity setup and cleanup as needed

Program Hours:

Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 4:00pm (Year Round). We are closed on STAT holidays.

Program Locations:

Quality of Life has four (4) program locations in Saskatoon (Buena Vista, Holiday Park, Stonebridge, and Sutherland neighbourhoods) and one (1) program location in Warman, SK. You can choose the program location that works best for you!

Time Commitment:

Flexible scheduling with no minimum hours required. Volunteers are welcome to join on days that fit their availability.

Important Notes:
• Transportation to and from the program location is the responsibility of the volunteer.
• Transportation for community-based outings may be provided by SaskAbilities.
• You will receive an Orientation in advance of volunteering!
• You will be provided paperwork to review, complete and submit in advance of your orientation and volunteer commencement.
