Volunteer Opportunities at United Way

Thank you for considering joining the large community of local volunteers and donors at United Way Saskatoon and Area working together to ensure everyone in our community has the opportunity to reach their full potential.

Opportunities for Workplaces and Groups

Volunteering as a group is a great way to scale impact and give back to the community. United Way has a variety of ways for your group or workplace to make a positive impact in our community.

Day of Caring – Matching workplaces or groups with community-based organizations on a specific project is what Day of Caring is all about. The goal is to add capacity to agencies who could benefit from the skill set of a group, whether that’s simply the labour of many hands to paint a room, added professional capacity to write HR policies or skills of a group of trades people.

Opportunities for Individuals

Board of Directors -The Board of Directors is responsible for governance and oversees the management of the organization.  Directors are appointed each year at the Annual General Meeting in June.  Directors are appointed for a 3-year term.

Campaign Cabinet – The Campaign Cabinet provides leadership to United Way’s annual fundraising campaign.  Recruited each spring, it is a year-long commitment with monthly meetings and additional meetings with United Way stakeholders throughout the year. • APPLY HERE

Workplace Campaign Employee Campaign Coordinator – Every year hundreds of workplaces partner with us to run United Way workplace campaigns. Workplace campaigns are an opportunity for employees to better understand their community, to support United Way, and have fun doing it. In some workplaces, this person may form a small committee of their peers to help organize the campaign. Time commitment varies.

Summer Success Volunteer Reader – Volunteer readers are needed during the Summer Success camps in July and August. Volunteers will support Summer Success students with one-on-one reading and engage in fun activities in and around the classroom.  Typically, a 1 hour time commitment with opportunities for multiple reading times.

We are always looking for new people to share their knowledge and skills. If you are interested in volunteering and sharing your local love, please fill in the form below. Individuals will be contacted based on volunteer opportunity availability and qualified matches.
