Volunteer Opportunities at United Way

There are many ways to volunteer with United Way of Saskatoon and Area. From regular, long-term commitments to one-time events, volunteering can have significant benefits for both you and your community.

Board of Directors -The Board of Directors is responsible for governance and oversees the management of the organization.  Directors are appointed each year at the Annual General Meeting in June.  Directors are appointed for a 3-year term.

Campaign Cabinet – The Campaign Cabinet provides leadership to United Way’s annual fundraising campaign.  Recruited each spring, it is a year-long commitment with monthly meetings and additional meetings with United Way stakeholders throughout the year. • APPLY HERE

Women Leading the Way Event Committee – This committee provides direction and support to planning the annual Women’s Leading the Way event.  Meetings vary from monthly to bi-weekly as required for planning and decision making from March – June.

GenNext Council – The GenNext Council brings together people in their 20s and 30s to join United Way of Saskatoon and Area’s efforts to change lives. The Council meets monthly as well as throughout the year to plan GenNext events and initiatives.

Workplace Campaign Employee Campaign Coordinator – Every year hundreds of workplaces partner with us to run United Way workplace campaigns. Workplace campaigns are an opportunity for employees to better understand their community, to support United Way, and have fun doing it. In some workplaces, this person may form a small committee of their peers to help organize the campaign. Time commitment varies.

Summer Success Volunteer Reader – Volunteer readers are needed during the Summer Success camps in July and August. Volunteers will support Summer Success students with one-on-one reading and engage in fun activities in and around the classroom.  Typically, a 1 hour time commitment with opportunities for multiple reading times.
