| Job Description | Are you passionate about health equity and driven to make a real difference in your community? Pulse of Hope Foundation is looking for dedicated, visionary individuals to join our Board of Directors and help shape the future of healthcare in Saskatchewan. Pulse of Hope is a Saskatchewan-based nonprofit foundation with a clear and urgent mission: to improve the compassion, accessibility, equity, and quality of healthcare for people across the province. We do this by advancing community advocacy, education, and awareness; facilitating access to non-medical equipment; and supporting or co-creating community-based health initiatives. Our work places particular emphasis on individuals living with chronic health conditions, and our primary focus communities are rural residents, Indigenous Peoples, and newcomers to Saskatchewan. As a Board Member, you will play a central role in guiding the foundation’s strategic direction, strengthening its governance, and ensuring our programs create meaningful, lasting impact for the communities that need it most. You will help grow our partnerships, advance our mission, and bring your unique skills and perspective to a team united by a shared commitment to health equity. This is more than a volunteer role. It is an opportunity to lead with purpose, contribute to something larger than yourself, and help build a Saskatchewan where everyone – regardless of where they live, where they come from, or what they are living with – has access to the care and support they deserve. If that vision resonates with you, we would love to hear from you. |
| Skills Required | We welcome applicants from all professional backgrounds. While previous board or governance experience is an asset, it is not required - what matters most is your commitment to our mission and your willingness to grow. Ideal candidates will bring: - A genuine passion for health equity and improving the lives of underserved communities in Saskatchewan. - Willingness to learn and engage meaningfully with governance, organizational strategy, and community health issues. - Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate respectfully with diverse perspectives. - Critical thinking and sound judgment when contributing to board discussions and decisions. - Reliability and follow-through: honoring commitments and actively participating in meetings and initiatives. - An asset mindset: bringing your unique skills, lived experience, or professional background to strengthen the team. Skills in areas such as finance, law, healthcare, community development, communications, fundraising, or lived experience with our focus communities are particularly valued, though no single background is required. Above all, we are looking for individuals who are enthusiastic, open-minded, and ready to contribute to a team that is working toward a healthier, more equitable Saskatchewan. |
| Benefits to Volunteer | Serving on the Pulse of Hope Board of Directors is an opportunity to contribute to something that genuinely matters - while also growing as a leader and professional. - Drive real change: your decisions will directly shape programs and initiatives that improve healthcare access for rural, Indigenous, and newcomer communities across Saskatchewan. - Build governance experience: gain hands-on exposure to nonprofit board operations, strategic planning, and organizational leadership. - Grow your network: connect with healthcare professionals, community advocates, and civic leaders across the province. - Strengthen your résumé with a credible board position at a registered nonprofit foundation. - Develop transferable skills in areas such as financial oversight, policy development, and stakeholder communication. - Receive a letter of reference recognizing your leadership and commitment to community health. - Be part of a passionate, purpose-driven team that shows up for the communities that need it most. Whether you are drawn by the mission, the growth opportunity, or both - there is a place for you at the table. |
