| Position Title | Summer Youth Program Volunteer – Meadowgreen Youth Program |
| Job Description | Join MCC Saskatchewan’s Raise the Peace Summer Program and Camp 2026 — a free, community-rooted program serving approximately 65 children and youth (ages 8–15) from the Meadowgreen neighbourhood in Saskatoon. Volunteers play a hands-on role in delivering weekly sessions from June 29 to August 7, 2026 (Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, 2:00–5:00 PM), and in the Raise the Peace Camp Week (August 10–14). Activities include peer-led soccer and sports, cooking, arts and crafts, field trips, Peace Reading Circles, and special experiences such as Equine-Assisted Learning and an overnight stay at Wanuskewin Heritage Park. Responsibilities include facilitating inclusive, culturally responsive activities; building positive, trusting relationships with youth; supporting sharing circles and group experiences; assisting with field trips and the camp week; and helping create safe, welcoming spaces where young people develop skills, confidence, and a sense of belonging. Volunteers are supervised by MCC staff at all times and are never left alone with participants. Comprehensive training is provided, including Plan-to-Protect (child safeguarding) and trauma-informed practice orientation. Flexible scheduling is available — commit to one or more days per week based on your availability. |
