Day of Caring® is a day focused on strengthening our neighbourhoods and building our community through volunteerism. It offers participants from the business community the opportunity to experience the rewards of volunteerism and demonstrate the difference we can make by working together while building the capacity of community agencies.
This year, Day of Caring® is reminding us how important our connections to each other – and our communities – really are, especially with the added challenge of keeping each other safe through physical distancing. The drive to help and support others within our community still exists and organizations are eager to show love and support for community agencies while we stay #UnitedApart!
“Day of Caring® is all about giving back and making a positive difference in our communities. The commitment to give back and support the communities where we live work and play has been a cornerstone at Saskatchewan Blue Cross for almost 75 years. Our community investment program helps create positive social change by aligning our strengths and core values to improve the neighborhoods we live in. We are neighbors helping neighbors.”
– Shelley Vandenberg, CEO, Saskatchewan Blue Cross
This year’s projects vary from surprising community agency staff with lunches, outdoor area furniture creation, and virtual fundraisers and messages of support. Although each project is different, the purpose of the day remains the same – working together while building relationships and showing support to community agencies and the people they help.
Thank you to all of the Day of Caring® participants and to our presenting sponsor Saskatchewan Blue Cross for their continued support of Day of Caring and for standing #UnitedApart.
