| Position Title | Family Literacy Volunteer |
| Job Description | Parents and caregivers bring their children aged 0-5 years old to weekly programs that include rhymes, story time, literacy activities, and a separate parent session. As a volunteer at a program, you will help with set-up, meet and greet families, engaging families at circle time and activity stations, child minding, snack serving, and clean up. Programs are 4-12 weeks long, normally take place on weekdays either morning or afternoon, and volunteers are required to be there from 1-3 hours per week depending on the program and schedule. |
| Skills Required | Meet Foundations Learning volunteer requirements (attend orientation, complete application form, obtain Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search, agree to Foundations Learning policies and procedures). Minimum CLB level 5. Adhere to program/event expectations and guidelines. Maintain communication with Foundations Learning's Family Literacy Coordinators for support. |
