Position Title	General Maintenance Person
Job Description	The Maintenance Person will work with the Saskatoon SPCA Team to support the organization with basic building repair tasks. This may include completing minor building and equipment repairs if the volunteer had the requisite skills or advising the organization where tasks should be delegated to a contractor. The ideal candidate would be a person with a professional background in one of the major trades areas such as plumbing, construction, and/or electrical. This position would work great for a recently retired person who was looking for an opportunity to support our organization in a volunteer capacity while using your trade skills.
Skills Required	• Mechanically inclined with some experience in small equipment • Able to work independently, collaboratively, and as an effective team member • Ability to engage in physical labor within all governing bodies of the Saskatoon SPCA • Able to volunteer, at minimum, for one 3 hour commitment per week. Day and time of the week can be flexible. • Able to do physical labour as needed. • Experience working with animals is considered an asset. A person must be comfortable operating in areas where companion animals are present. • Must have valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle • Must have a genuine interest in and concern for the overall well-being of animals and demonstrate empathy and compassion for shelter animals • Work will generally occur indoors, but outdoor work may occur on occasion.
