| Job Description | Summer Success volunteers play an important role in supporting students in grades 1 and 3 as they strengthen their literacy skills and build their confidence in reading. Volunteers will work alongside teachers and assist on supporting one-on-one reading, group reading, participating in crafts and creative activities. |
| Skills Required | Volunteers do not require to have teaching experience. We look for volunteers who are: - Compassionate, friendly & patient - Reliable and able to commit to their selected volunteer shift(s) - Able to follow instructions - Comfortable interacting with elementary students - Respectful of diverse backgrounds and experiences This volunteer opportunity requires a Criminal Record Vulnerable Sector check from ALL volunteers. The Saskatoon Police service provides this free of charge for volunteers that have a letter from the United Way. Once you complete the below form, you will receive the letter for the Criminal Record Check. |
