United Way believes in building local communities that are vibrant, inclusive and forward-thinking. As a community service organization, you are a critical part of making this goal a reality and our multi-year funding agreements are designed to provide some stability and flexibility to your organization, while providing much needed investment to address local challenges.

Multi-year Funding Application

Eligibility Criteria

To apply for United Way funding, organizations must:

  • Have been in operation for a minimum of two years.
  • Provide community services supporting vulnerable individuals and families in Saskatoon and Area, achieving outcomes in at least one of United Way’s three focus areas:
  • Be governed by a volunteer Board of Directors and have a voting membership.
  • Operate in accordance with the Saskatchewan Human Rights Code, ensuring no exclusion based on race, ancestry, place of origin, color, ethnic origin, citizenship, creed, sex, sexual orientation, age, marital status, family status, or disability.

Non-Eligible Activities

United Way funding cannot be used for:

  • Political activities
  • Religious activities
  • Reserves and deficits
  • Activities that contravene Canada Revenue Agency’s requirements for maintaining the status of Charitable Organization or Qualified Donor

Funding Period and Timeline

The funding period covered by this Call for Applications will start on April 1st, 2026, under new multi-year (minimum of two years) funding agreements.

Key Dates:

  • March 19th to April 4th: Call for applications
  • April 7th: Reviewing panel discussions begin
  • April 30th: Agencies informed of funding decisions
  • April 1st 2026: Funding agreement begins

Steps to Apply:

  2. To complete the application, you will need the following required documents:
    • Current Board of Directors
    • Current bylaws
    • Most recent annual report
    • Most recent audited financial statements
    • Strategic Plan (if applicable)
    • Current or proposed operating budget
    • Completed United Way Budget Information Chart (Template available)
    • Completed United Way Demographic Table (Template available)

Submission Deadline: Friday, April 4th at 5pm.
